Thanks to all my friends and fans that have waited patiently for this recording for many years…it is my gift to you. I hope it brings you peace and joy for many Christmas seasons to come.I was a young college student in the Mississippi Delta when I first traveled overseas to the Holy Land. It was December, and as I walked in the hills surrounding Bethlehem, I remember looking up at the stars and waiting, with a sense of youthful excitement and anticipation, as if something was about to happen, perhaps like the shepherds and wise men and animals did the night that Emmanuel first came to us. Now, years later, I have returned to the Mississippi Delta, and as I ride through harvested fields that have been put to bed for the winter, I find myself looking up at the same moon and stars that shone over Bethlehem and again find my heart waiting with joyful anticipation for the Advent of the Christ child. To believe that God would come to us again is at once an awesome and humbling thought, but He will. We are waiting. May a child be reborn in all of us this Christmas…pax.
